GCI and NLA signed a Memorandum of Understanding

Global College International (GCI) and Nepal Leadership Academy (NLA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on August 03, 2016. Dr. Karan Singh Thagunna, Principal (on behalf of GCI) along with Mr. Tara Prasad Panthi, Program Manager, (on behalf of NLA) was present to sign the document.
The MOU signals commitment by both institutions to increased co-operation to foster entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership in students.

Global College International is working towards imparting international management education so as to prepare professionally competent managers and entrepreneurs who will be capable of leading their businesses in a changing global environment. Collaboration between Nepal Leadership Academy and Global College International can together build young leaders for leading enterprise innovation in various sectors.  

Nepal Leadership Academy was established to enable Nepalese youth and young professionals to harness their leadership potential and address societal issues such as leadership crisis, unemployment and foreign youth migration into innovative opportunities.  

With this collaboration, it is possible for the students of GCI to leverage their technical expertise, innovative ideas, leadership potential, and vast academic and professional networks towards supporting rural entrepreneurs. It is equally critical for the MBA student to learn about business opportunities that remain untapped and about challenges that need innovative solutions in the rural Nepal.  

“Nepal village program”, a leadership development program of GCI, is an attempt to realize the entrepreneurial capacity building in the MBA second semester student. Through this program student recognizes the business and entrepreneurship in the rural part of the country. It also helps MBA student to enhance their career decision making skills and better understand how to connect their academic capabilities with the world of work.  This program aims to provide students with many career development assessment tools used as part of co-curricular activities. 
 
Participating in the Nepal Village Program the students also get an opportunity to interact and share their knowledge among the local businessperson, entrepreneurs, different personnel working in various Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Co-operatives, Microfinance Institutions, Banks, Government Departments/Agencies and other institutions engaged in rural transformation.  Besides, rural organizations need personnel on several functional areas have the opportunity to meet the qualified students of the GCI with whom they can collaborate to enhance the performance. 

Objective of Nepal Village Program:

  •  To build the capacity of the students in different dimensions of rural development.
  •  To provide knowledge and skill to students for effective utilization and management of human and valuable rural resources.
  •  To identify the business and entrepreneurial prospects, scopes in the rural part of the country.
  •  To develop the local business ideas in to the enhanced business models. 
  •  To facilitate the participants in thinking critically for bringing solutions to the multi-dimensional problems of the rural economy.
  •  To acknowledge the challenges of rural business, enterprise leadership.

The participating students of Nepal Village Program will enhance their capabilities to diagnose and tackle critical societal issues through effective teamwork.
